Like a comedic 28 Years Later written by Taika Waititi, The Incomer is a very funny allegory about the material items we take for granted, and the innocence and wonder we lose as modern times go by, leading to the importance of community and belonging.
Louis Paxton is an impressive new directorial comedy voice, giving us hilarious dead pan, dark, violent comedy, amongst the rolling, soaring green Scottish vistas. With excitably fun performances from Domhnall Gleeson, Grant O’Rourke, and Gayle Rankin, Paxton’s tale of found family and growing up, is a torch for humanity before laws. 8/10.
